SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2019:  A Universe of Stories

Monday, June 3 β€“ Friday, August 2

Sign up to explore the galaxy this summer! You'll get a bag full of goodies at the Youth Services desk, which includes 2 tickets for free admission to the Minerva Municipal Pool (1 for the student, 1 for an adult to accompany them) for the library's Summer Reading Pool Party from 9–11 AM on August 1st. Complete the activities on the Star Chart handout in your bag to earn a variety of rewards and for a chance to win one of our out-of-this-world prize baskets. Prize baskets available include but aren’t limited to a LEGO basket, a poop emoji basket, a shark basket, a unicorn basket, an art basket, and a Stranger Things basket.

 

Keep an eye out for these Special Summer Programs in June and July…

Note: Youth under 9 years must be accompanied by an adult to programs. To register for a program, call (330) 868-4101 or visit the Youth Services Desk. Registration typically opens 2 weeks before any given event.

 

Book Beginnings and Story Time:

Come to Book Beginnings (for parents and children ages 0-3) and Story Time (for more independent children ages 3-5) on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 AM. 

 

Animal Reading Friends (ARF):

Sign up to read with one of our gentle Animal Reading Friends (ARF!) in this program that pairs school age children with dogs to improve their reading skills and foster a lifelong love of reading. Runs Thursdays, 12:30 AM β€“ 1:30 PM,  June 6 – July 25.

 

Sensory SPOT in June & July:

Visit our Sensory Spot for hands-on learning fun! All ages are welcome, but minors must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Mondays & Thursdays, 10-12 AM
  • Fridays 10 AM-4 PM

 

Pool Storytimes at Minerva Municipal Pool:

If you plan on swimming at the Minerva Pool this summer, join us for storytime during the 3 PM pool break on Tuesdays in June and July!

  • June 4, 11, 18, & 25
  • July 2, 9, 16, 23, & 30

 

Read-A-Palooza: 

If you attend Minerva Elementary School, don't forget to log your minutes for Scholastic's Read-A-Palooza Summer Reading Challenge! You can count the same minutes you spent reading books for Reading Rewards for Read-A-Palooza. Forgot your password? No problem! Stop by the Youth Services desk and we can help you.
