LEGO DAY Saturday, January 26, 2013
(January 9, 2013) Do you love building with Legos? You can get together and create with other kids who like them too! Minerva Public Library will be hosting a Lego Day on Saturday, January 26 from 2:00-3:30 pm in the Community Room on the library's lower level. This entertaining activity is designed for ages 6 and up. Parents are encouraged to attend. Space is limited so registration is required. To sign up call 330-868-4101 and ask for Youth Services.
Tax Form Update
(January 8, 2013) The IRS has announced that it will begin accepting tax returns on January 30. Patrons have asked when the library will put out tax forms. Rest assured that we have ordered the same assortment of Federal and State tax forms that we have in years past. However, the last minute tax legislation delayed the printing of the Federal return forms and instructions, and the IRS has not provided a shipping date. We will put out forms and instructions as we receive them, but they are not available yet.
This Week on the Web
(January 2, 2013) Putting together a reading plan for the winter? Here's a list linking to hundred of best books of 2012 lists from newspapers, magazines, blogs, radio shows, etc. Observe the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation at the National Archives and the Library of Congress, as well as an article and video from the Smithsonian Institution.
Library Closed
(December 29, 2012) The library is closed Monday and Tuesday, December 31 and January 1, in observance of the New Year holiday. No library materials checked out from the Minerva Public Library are due on any day that the library is closed. The library Trustees and staff wish you all a happy and prosperous 2013.
